EghtesadOnline: In the face of tight state funding and financial pressure, private companies have taken on the mantle of developing Iran's water and power infrastructure, Iran's caretaker energy minister said on Monday.

EghtesadOnline: At least 30% of Iran's water and wastewater infrastructure, including a dilapidated supply network that is a major source of water loss due to leakages, require repairs, the caretaker energy minister, Sattar Mahmoudi, said this week.

EghtesadOnline: A memorandum of understanding has been signed by the Energy Ministry, the Management and Planning Organization, Khatam-al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters and Khuzestan Governorate on tackling the oil-rich region's persistent water and wastewater problems, Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian said.

EghtesadOnline: The Energy Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME) on transferring know-how to improve electricity and water infrastructure.
