The director general of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture’s Office of Quality Improvement, Processing and Aquatic Market said $650 million of aquatics was exported from the country in the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023, to March 19, 2024).

The statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration showed that over 186,000 tons of different types of the aquatics and fishery products were exported from the country in the 11 months of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023 to February 22, 2024).

Iran’s deputy minister of agriculture said that it is predicted that 1.8 million tons of aquatic products will be produced during the country’s 7th Five-Year Development Plan.

Iran exported 132,000 tons of aquatic animals in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (from March 21 to November 22, 2023), registering a 14 percent hike compared to the same period last year.

The secretary general of Iran’s fisheries Production and Trading Union said the country is exporting aquatic animals to more than 50 countries.
