EghtesadOnline: The decision to impose customs duty on date exports has been criticized by the head of Iran Chamber of Cooperatives' Agriculture and Food Industries Commission.

EghtesadOnline: Exports of dates will be subject to customs duty from April 3 to May 20, Hamid Zadboum, the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, announced in a letter to the National Association of Iranian Dates.

EghtesadOnline: As per the new directive of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, date exporters need to pay duty for their shipments.

EghtesadOnline: About 151,000 tons of different kinds of dates worth about $180 million were exported from Iran during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Oct. 22), which shows a 25% and 70% growth in weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year.

EghtesadOnline: Close to 89,220 tons of different kinds of dates worth more than $102 million were exported from Iran to 69 countries during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22).

EghtesadOnline: Around 350,000 tons of dates worth $300 million have been exported from Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian year on March 21, 2018.
