EghtesadOnline: Cigarette imports fell to zero over the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21-May 21) compared with the import of 503 million cigarettes year-on-year, Ali Asghar Ramzi , the head of Iranian Tobacco Planning and Supervision Center said on Monday.

EghtesadOnline: A total of 3,259 tons of mu’assel were imported into Iran during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), indicating a 34% decline compared with the similar period of last year, the head of Tobacco Planning and Supervision Center, Ali Asghar Ramzi , said.

EghtesadOnline: A total of 2.6 billion cigarettes were produced in Iran in the first month of the current fiscal year (started March 21), registering a 63% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, the head of the Center for Tobacco Planning and Supervision said.

EghtesadOnline: Cigarette production in Iran is estimated to reach 45 billion in the current Iranian year (ending March 20, 2017), up 50% compared with last year, the head of Tobacco Planning and Supervision Center affiliated with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade said.
