EghtesadOnline: More than 225,000 tons of colza worth around 7.5 trillion rials (close to $178.6 million) have been purchased by the government from farmers across the country so far this year, registering an 80% surge compared with the corresponding period of last year, the director of “National Oilseed Project” carried out by Agriculture Ministry said.

EghtesadOnline: The government has purchased more than 173,000 tons of colza from local farmers so far this crop year, registering a 260% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, the head of the Government Trading Corporation of Iran said on Saturday.

EghtesadOnline: Colza production is estimated to reach 200,000 tons in the current Iranian year (March 2017-18) and register a threefold increase compared with the previous year, a deputy agriculture minister said.

EghtesadOnline: Some 220,000 tons of colza are estimated to be harvested in the current Iranian year (started March 21), from which about 100,000 tons of high-quality vegetable oil will be produced, a deputy agriculture minister said.

EghtesadOnline: It is estimated that between 180,000 and 220,000 tons of colza will be produced in the current Iranian year (started March 21) from 130,000 hectares of land, an advisor to agriculture minister said.

EghtesadOnline: Colza production is expected to reach 200,000 tons in the next Iranian year (March 2017-18), double the amount of production this year, according to Alireza Mohajer, an official with the Ministry of Agriculture.
