(PPL) was established in January 1998 thanks to efforts undertaken by then Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh. PPL is 100 percent owned by Naftiran Intertrade Company (NICO) which is affiliated with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
