EghtesadOnline: The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade has lifted its seasonal ban on rice imports.

EghtesadOnline: Rice imports have resumed in Iran following a letter sent by Deputy Agriculture Minister Ali Akbar Mehrfard to the caretaker of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Mohammad Reza Modoudi.

EghtesadOnline: About 958,000 tons of wholly or semi-milled rice worth $985.4 million were imported into Iran during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Oct. 22) to register a 12.54% and 4.21% decline in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year.

EghtesadOnline: The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that the ban on rice imports will be postponed this year.

EghtesadOnline: A total of 662,798 tons of wholly or semi-milled rice worth more than $674 million were imported into Iran during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22) to register a 2.8% and 11.9% rise in weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year, based on the latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

EghtesadOnline: Around 379,000 tons of rice worth $375 million were imported during the first three months of the current year (March 21-June 21), showing 7.9% and 1.3% decrease in volume and value respectively compared with the corresponding period last year, latest figures released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.
