EghtesadOnline: A senior power official has appealed the public to use electricity judiciously in the face of an unexpected rise in demand over the last several days.

EghtesadOnline: Electricity demand in Iran during the fiscal 2016-17 rose by 2,700 megawatts, which is more than the average consumption level of Armenia at 1,800 MW, a deputy energy minister said on Monday.

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s electricity consumption reached a peak of 52,470 megawatts on Sunday, the highest in the current fiscal year that started in March and close to the 52,790-MW mark reached in the fiscal 2016-17. Electricity demand is forecast to reach as high as 56,000 MW this summer, according to ISNA, citing a report by the Energy Ministry.
