EghtesadOnline: As cultivation methods become more efficient with the modernization of irrigation systems in Iran, there has been a 37% reduction in water used in watermelon production.

EghtesadOnline: Close to 250 tons of watermelon were exported to Qatar from Genaveh Port in the southern Bushehr Province, the director general of Genaveh Customs Office said.

EghtesadOnline: More than 21,500 tons of watermelon worth 134.5 billion rials (about $3.6 million) were exported from Iran in the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017), registering a decline of 96% and 97% in tonnage and value respectively compared with the year before, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration said.

EghtesadOnline: Close to 504,000 tons of watermelon worth nearly $97.8 million were exported from Iran to 29 countries during the five months to August 22, registering an 18% and 33% growth in weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year.
