Iran’s ‘The Salesman’ wins best film award in Munich int’l fest

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s “The Salesman” directed by Asghar Farghadi won the Best Film Award of the 34th Munich International Film Festival.

“We chose to give the prize to a film which is modern and has a forwarding and global view to the future. To a story which is very exciting and full of adventures. A film about what we are or what we can be as a human being,” the jury of the festival said.

According to ISNA, Farhadi and Iranian actor Shahab Hosseini have won the rewards for the best screenplay and the best actor at Cannes respectively.

Starring Hosseini, “The Salesman” got the Best Screenplay during the 69th edition of the festival and brought the Iranian superstar the Best Actor.

The movie (titled Forushande in Persian) portrays Ra’ana (Alidousti) and Emad (Hosseini), a couple who are acting in the Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller.

Shot in the capital Tehran, it deals with the husband’s situation after an attack on his wife.
