Spokesman: Saudi embassy invaders should be punished

EghtesadOnline: Government spokesman Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht said on Tuesday that attackers to Saudi embassy in Tehran should be punished for their conduct.

Addressing a press briefing, Nobakht said, “All those behind the damage to the country are accountable before the law and God. Such an act distorted image of Islamic Iran’s cultured and wise people globally, even helping Saudi Arabia to be relieved of pressures.”

According to IRNA, he added, “That time, Saudi Arabia was under pressure of the world public opinion for the events taking place due to mismanagement of Hajj rituals; however, invasion on Saudi Embassy in Tehran led it get out of hot water and find the chance to target Iran’s interests in various fields.”

He went on to say that though Iran, which forced global powers to admit its rights, does not need to raise such issues but at any rate, such events harmed Iran’s national interests and wasted part of the country’s time. “So, all those responsible for the damage are accountable before the law and God.”
