News ID: 735652

The 43rd parliament session to elect president was slated for Monday noon, but the MPs attending the parliament lacked a quorum to hold formal session and vote for a president, according to IRNA.

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri announced that the next parliament session to elect the president will be held on September 7.

While Lebanon witnessed holding three days of national talks with participation of all the political parties, it seems that there is no consensus to elect president yet.

With the end of Michel Suleiman's tenure in 2014, the Lebanese parliament has not decided on the next president.
