Iran requires Arab League Sec-Gen to study history, geography of region
EghtesadOnline: Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi on Tuesday dismissed the 'meddlesome' statement of Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Gheit in Bahrain about the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf.
Qassemi advised the Arab League secretary general to study history and geography of the region, according to IRNA.
'Repetition of such wrong statements have not and will not have any impact on the existing historical, geographical and legal status of the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf. The islands are integral part of Iranian territory.'
'To have a better understanding of realities of the Persian Gulf region it will be appropriate to spend more time at least on studying history and geography of the region,' he added.
