Jahangiri: Iran willing to develop ties with different states

EghtesadOnline: First Vice-President Es'haq Jahangiri said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to develop ties with different states, especially friendly countries like Algeria.

He made the remarks in meeting with Algerian Energy Minister Noureddine Bouterfa.

Jahangiri expressed Iran's readiness to promote relations level with Algeria without any limitation, saying that Iranian officials have firm political resolve in this respect, according to IRNA.

Jahangiri called for regulating the banking ties, saying that removal of banking obstacles will play effective role to develop economic ties.

Jahangiri recalled his past negotiations with Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal on ways to develop trade and economic cooperation especially in the field of energy, saying that it was scheduled the ministers of petroleum and energy of the two countries to review development of cooperation in the field of energy.

Jahangiri said that the Islamic Republic of Iran prefers to cut dependence on oil income and that Iran and Algeria, as two oil rich countries, should reduce their reliance on oil incomes.

'We expect Algeria to play more active and effective role for the settlement of the regional disputes and that of the Islamic states.' 

Bouterfa said that Iran and Algeria have exercised coordination in OPEC, calling for more coordination between the two countries on issues related to energy.

Following victory of Islamic Revolution in Iran, a big jump happened in mutual relations between the two countries.

He said that in spite of sanctions on export of Iranian crude oil, the country made eye-catching progress and achieved advanced industrial capabilities.

Bouterfa said that to develop economic relations, direct flights should be established between the two countries.

Bouterfa said that Algeria is fully ready to take steps to develop economic cooperation in the framework of Tehran-Algiers joint commission on economic cooperation.

Concerning regional disputes, Bouterfa said that Algeria is trying to play positive role to de-escalate in the region and help restore peace and stability.

He added that Algeria has increased its activities against terrorist groups, like Daesh.
