IRGC dismisses new US propaganda about targetting US chopper by Iran warship

EghtesadOnline: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy on Tuesday dismissed US propaganda about targeting US chopper by Iranian warship saying that Strait of Hormuz is open for free navigation and that presence of the US forces in the Persian Gulf created nuisance.

The IRGC released a statement in reaction to allegations made by United States Department of Defense about training guns toward the US chopper by IRGC warship in the Persian Gulf saying that the United States has embarked on propaganda campaign in pursuit of ambiguous goals, IRNA reported.

The statement said that the Strait of Hormuz is open to international navigations 24 hours in accordance with the International Law of the Sea and that presence of the US forces in the Persian Gulf created nuisance for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The IRGC said that presence of the US forces in the Persian Gulf has no justification when the Strait of Hormuz is free 24 hours for free navigation and that conduct of the US forces in the Persian Gulf is unprofessional with unreal image causing stumbling block. 

The IRGC Navy forces are well-equipped and are in full combat readiness closely monitoring the Persian Gulf as well as the Strait of Hormuz to maintain sustainable security in the sensitive and strategic region, the statement said. 

Iranian forces are carrying out their duties to safeguard international peace and security in the Persian Gulf and do not take heed of the US hue and cry .

IRGC said that there is no justification for presence of the US forces in the Persian Gulf.
