Pres. calls for close ties to overcome intricacies

EghtesadOnline: Close relation among countries makes them resist better against intricacies, President Hassan Rouhani said on Friday.

President Rouhani made the remarks at Mehrabad International Airport after his trip to the Central Asian countries, according to ILNA.

Under present circumstances in the region, with much consultations and careful planning for close relations, the regional states will become much powerful against problems, President added.

He said Iran attaches importance to its neighbors in Central Asia and Caucasus.

Sanctions were an obstacle on the way of economic relations between Iran and the Central Asian countries but Iran plans to revive the ties in the post-sanctions era, President added.

He noted that all countries are happy with economic ties with Iran and government should facilitate export of technical and engineering services to the countries.

Iran lifted visa issuance with Armenia and plans to remove it with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well, the chief executive said.

He noted that Central Bank of Iran has established relations with the three countries' banks.

Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are ready for import of technical and engineering services from Iran, Rouhani added.

He said Kyrgyzstan requested Iran to build hydroelectric power station in the country.

'We discussed cultural, security issues, Iran's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, removal of preferential tariffs, agricultural cooperation and extra-territorial farming,' the President added.

He noted that Iran signed cooperation documents with the three Central Asian countries in fields of culture, security and academics.

Rouhani voiced hope that the trip will help meeting interests of Iran and of the three central Asian countries.
