Ministry refutes claims of FM correspondence with US State Secretary

EghtesadOnline: Foreign Ministry on Tuesday categorically dismissed the claim that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had communicated in writing with the US Secretary of State.

“Such a claim is totally baseless, false and illusive,” said Foreign Ministry in a statement.

“The wrong, baseless and again new claim of (MP) Javad Karimi Ghoddousi that Foreign Minister of our country has had correspondence with the US Secretary of State is strongly rejected,' the statement said. 

'Such claim is totally baseless, false and illusive,' it added.

According to IRNA, Foreign Ministry voiced surprise and sorrow over such misconceptions of Karimi Ghoddousi and warned against consequences and effects of the MP’s insistence and obstinacy on the wrong and baseless claim against the highest authority of the diplomatic organ of the country. 

It said such claims are aimed to distort public opinion. “Like before, such claims will have no special goal and the wise and informed MPs and noble Iranian nation are well-aware of the outlines of the policy of the country in foreign policy domain, not intending to be influenced by such wrong insinuations.”

“Though such diversionary subjects will have no impact on the principled way of the ministry within framework of the macro decided frameworks, the act is among the group of measures to distort public opinion, being contradictory with general security of the country.”
