Iran says US root cause of terrorism, extremism
EghtesadOnline: Iranian Foreign Ministry official rejected US Defense Secretary James Mattis’ baseless and unconsidered remarks, adding that US policy of supporting Zionist regime’s state terrorist and also terrorism nurturing regimes is the root cause of terrorism and extremism in the region.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Tuesday referred to the US previous accusations against Iran which accused Tehran of trying to assassinate a foreign ambassador to Washington and noted that despite accusations against Iran, the US and its defense minister are manifestation of terrorism and violation of human rights in the world, according to IRNA.
The people of world and the region have not forgotten the US role in mass murder of innocent people of Hadisah and Fallujah, he added.
The Spokesman reminded the old and fruitless policy of US in sowing the seed of discord between the Islamic Republic establishment and people over past three decades, and noted that Washington ignores huge turnout of people with participation of up to 70 percent of eligible voters in recent presidential elections of Iran, while it supports regimes in the region and the world that are far from democracy and election.
