Zarif calls for US commitments under JCPOA

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said on Saturday that the US should be commuted to its obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal as soon as possible.

Addressing a local gathering in Tehran, Zarif described the US endeavors for evading its commitments under the nuclear accord known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as a kind of 'forward escape' move.

Asked about the remarks made by an American official that the US will withdraw from the JCPOA unless Iran accepts restrictions on its cyber-space, human rights, and economic activities by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Zarif said a member of a multilateral agreement cannot set conditions for a deal, according to IRNA.

He added the US had set several conditions before which were 'facetious' the same as the new ones.

Given the Astana peace talks on Syria, he added the Islamic Republic of Iran is supporting descalation of tensions in that Arab country.
