Power Projects Launched Nationwide

EghtesadOnline: More than 1,000 power projects were launched during the Government Week (August 24-30) across Iran, the Energy Ministry news portal Paven reported.

Zanjan Province has the largest number of development plans in the power sector as 284 electricity projects were inaugurated.

A 7-megawatt solar plant in Abhar, which is the largest photovoltaic station in the northwest, was among the major projects in the province.

A total of 172 power projects in southern Fars Province were launched at 3.8 million, Financial Tribune reported.

The projects included power supply to 13 villages, improving network reliability and helping cut voltage reduction in some areas by installing 185 transformers and 260 transmission towers.

Power projects were also launched in several counties of Markazi Province including Arak, Ashtian, Tafresh, Khomeyn, Delijan, Saveh, Shazand, Farahan and Mahallat among others.

Installing 12,000 smart meters, increasing the number of streetlights and renovation of low-pressure network were among the activities of the Markazi Province Electric Distribution Company.

Overall 128 projects, costing $1.6 million, have been undertaken to supply stable and reliable power.

Plans to boost voltage, reduce waste, optimize distribution networks, and develop feeders are among the 110 electricity projects in northern Mazandaran Province.

Completed at $3.2 million, the projects were inaugurated in Sari, Babol, Amol, Babolsar, Neka, Savadkuh, Fereydunkenar and Qaem Shahr.

Opening a 7 MW solar plant in Bashik Tapeh was among the 85 projects in Hamedan Province.

The projects included expanding the network to the suburbs and rural areas. 

A total of 55 projects were launched in Semnan Province.

Replacing low-pressure copper wires with self-contained cables and converting traditional water wells into smart ones by installing modern metering systems are among the work undertaken by Semnan Province Electric Power Distribution Company. 

Projects also started in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Kurdestan, Khuzestan, Yazd, Qom, Kermanshah, Gilan and Ardebil provinces.
