Kayvan Khosravi told IRNA Saturday that the meeting will be held today before midday.

After a military coup attempt in Turkey on Friday night, the SNSC secretariat did take proper measures to closely examine the issue and deal with its probable aftermath, said Khosravi.

He further referred to a telephone conversation between Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu to follow up the developments in that country.

Khosravi then appreciated Turkish people for supporting democracy and stability in their country and stressed Iran's principled position in condemning coup in Turkey.
