EghtesadOnline: Bahrain rulers should avoid intensifying security measures and instead try to build trust among the Bahraini people, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi said on Sunday.

In reaction to dissolution of al-Wefaq Society, Qasemi said that such actions open the way for violent actions, IRNA reports.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman underlined that these organized and unconstructive actions for putting pressure on moderate characters and associations show that Bahraini rulers do not seek resolution of problems.

Such actions like dissolution of moderate associations and stripping nationality from respectful religious and political leaders of Bahrain will only complicate the situation and is not at the interest of the country's rulers, he said.

Qasemi recommended Bahrain rulers to avoid intensifying security approaches and instead try to build trust and prepare the ground for serious, constructive dialogue for convergence in the Bahraini society.

A Bahraini court has ordered the main opposition group Al-Wefaq to be dissolved and its assets liquidated.

This comes despite appeals by rights groups that the Shia organization is a legitimate voice in the kingdom.
