News ID: 768413

The state-run Anadolu news agency reported that Erdogan's Air Force adviser, Lt. Col. Erkan Kivrak, has been detained at a hotel in the Serik district of Turkey's province of Antalya.

The news agency added Kivrak was detained while on vacation. After an initial investigation by the Antalya police, the adviser has been transferred to a prison in capital, Ankara.

According to FNA, no details were given as to the reason for the detention, though dozens of senior military personnel have been put under arrest for alleged involvement in Friday's failed coup.

The development comes as the situation in Turkey after Friday’s botched coup attempts is still tense. At least five people were injured on Tuesday after a group of armed people attacked a traffic police post in Turkey's Northeast Trabzon province, local media reported.

According to Hurriyet newspaper the police post was attacked in the province's district of Macka at 8:45 a.m. local time. The newspaper added that at least four police officers, as well as one civilian were injured in the incident.
