EghtesadOnline: Expediency Council on Thursday dismissed certain claims of the officials of Iraqi Kurdistan region in connection with recent remarks of the Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaie.

Public Relations Department of the Secretariat of the EC said in a statement, a copy of which was made available to IRNA, that the EC Secretary's warning against Saudi consular activities in north of Iraq was based on official reports of the intelligence organs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
'Iraqi Kurdistan Region's officials are advised to clear themselves of such a stain.'
It said that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps' (IRGC) clashes with the anti-revolutionaries in three border points of the country in the past one month and explicit acknowledgements of officials of Komełe in BBC Farsi leave no room for any doubt in Saudi government's meddlesome efforts in north of Iraq and in western borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Certain officials in northern part of Iraq have in the past days reacted to statements of the EC Secretary Mohsen Rezaie.
Rezaie said in an interview with Iranian TV channel one, 'These guys (Saudis) have activated Komeles and democrats in Erbil and set up a garrison, with two offices in vicinity of Iranian border; if they continue to do so and if government of Mr. Barzani does not make any plan, we will launch destroying operations against them soon; we will then place the blame on Mr. Barzani. They have launched a great deal of efforts to make Iranian regions insecure; however, thanks to efforts and vigilance of our country's armed forces they have not been successful.'
Government of Iraqi Kurdistan region in response issued an official statement and said, 'All the information provided in analyses of Mr. Rezaie regarding recent border events, as referred to in the TV debate, were wrong and totally baseless.'
Iraqi Kurdistan region's government further posted on its website that Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan Region had formed a joint security committee in that connection and all problems and necessary points to that end should be followed up and examined.
It added, 'Even a single authentic and reliable document, if any, that would substantiate statements of Mr. Rezaie should be looked into by the joint security committee.'
It also emphasized that security and stability of the Islamic Republic of Iran is of high significance to Iraqi Kurdistan region.
