In separate meetings on Wednesday, Hassan Danaeifard met and conferred with Ayatollah Sheikh Ishaq Fayadh, Mohammad Saeed Hakim, Sheikh Bashir Najafi, Sadreddin Qabanchi and Ayatollah Mojtaba Hosseini, the representative of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in Iraq.
During the meetings, the Iranian ambassador briefed the grand Ayatollahs on the measures taken by different Iranian organizations to make the necessary preparations for holding Arbaeen mourning ceremony (the anniversary of the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein(AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the third Shia Imam), according to IRNA.
Iranian consul general in Najaf was also present in the meetings.
Also, in a two-day visit to the holy city of Karbala last week, the Iranian ambassador met with Ayatollah Modarresi, Ayatollah Qazvini and Sheikh Mehdi Karbalaei, the representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani to exchange views on the upcoming Arbaeen rituals.
