EghtesadOnline: A senior Iranian foreign ministry official warned on Wednesday that the instrumental use of terrorism is a huge strategic blunder which would eventually backfire on certain countries.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and Africa Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Sigrid Kaag.

Jaberi Ansari underscored that the Islamic Republic considers dialogue as the sole way to resolve the crises in the Middle East, stressing that Tehran maintains its political approach in that regard, according to IRNA.

Touching upon Iran's principled policy in support of Lebanon's stability, he added the internal agreement between the Lebanese parties plays a pivotal role in settlement of key issues, particularly the problems regarding the presidency in that country.

The official further reiterated that the Syrian crisis and other problems in the region are not just tribal and religious issues but rather political ones.

He went on to stress that these problems should be settled in a political way.

Kaag, for his part, presented a report about the current regional developments in Lebanon.

Referring to the Syrian crisis and the problems caused by the migration of refugees in Lebanon, Kaag emphasized that the country's dilemma must be settled only through political approaches.
