Jannati in Indonesia to attend World Culture Forum meeting

EghtesadOnline: Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati arrived in Jakarta on Tuesday to attend the Ministerial meeting of World Culture Forum on Thursday.

Earlier, the meeting was scheduled to be hosted by the UN but later it was agreed to be held in Bali in cooperation with Indonesia and UNESCO.

During his visit to the country, Jannati will hold talks with Indonesian officials and participating countries in the upcoming event, reports IRNA.

Peripheral meetings of the forum attended by experts from various countries including Iran started today and continues for two days.

World Culture Forum meeting will open on Thursday with a message by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

King Abdullah of Jordan, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Indonesian former president Megawati Sukarnoputri and UNESCO's Director General Irina Bokova are among the special guests of the meeting in Bali.

The meeting is attended by 900 representatives from 47 countries.
