Armenia voices interest for trade cooperation with Iran

EghtesadOnline: Armenia’s Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan expressed his country’s readiness to expand financial cooperation with Iran.

In a meeting with Iran’s ambassador to Yerevan, Aramyan emphasized the necessity of enforcing big projects, stating that both sides must boost trade cooperation.

Armenia’s official underlined that Iranian investment in Armenia hits $3 million, while Armenian investments in Iran reaches $250,000, adding the figures suggest that both countries have the potential to increase trade cooperation, according to ISNA.

Aramyan reiterated that enforcing big projects can speed the trend, noting mutual cooperation was impossible in the past due to the economic sanctions imposed on Iran.

He expressed  his country’s interest in sustainable economic development of Iran, saying it will directly impact the economic development of Armenia.
