The official made the remarks while addressing a gathering here on the 71st establishment anniversary of the United Nations, reports IRNA.

Noting that the United Nations has failed to show due reaction to a number of historic events in recent years, he said the international body has been unable to suitably react to human catastrophe in Syria because of its political structure.

Referring to terrorists actions of such groups as Daesh, he said the only thing the United Nations does in this regard is to propose peace after end of clashes and nothing else while it has to play an important role in establishing peace and offering humanitarian aid to the Syrian nation.

He went on to regret that the situation was the same in Yemen as well in regards with the United Nations performance.

Referring to the disastrous health and hygiene conditions in Yemen, Araqchi called on the UN to carry out necessary measures to put an end to Saudi Arabia crimes there.
