Official: Lout Desert possesses good potential for growing tourism

EghtesadOnline: Vice President and head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Zahra Ahmadi said the Lout Desert provides great potential for developing tourism industry.

Making the remark in the city of Kerman in southeast of the country, she hoped the province will experience good progress in tourism areas by following wise planning.

She believed a number of hills in southern parts of the province which have a very ancient history also offer chances of developing tourism for the whole country, IRNA reported.

The Lout Desert in Kerman province with three of its subterranean water canals has been registered by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as world heritage item. 

Kerman province currently hosts five world heritage sites.

She said small entrepreneurship organizations are capable of offering good financial aid to handicrafts companies.
