Talking to a group of 15 IRNA reporters in Assaluyeh region in Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Bushehr Province on Wednesday, an expert in the Process Department of JPC, Mehrdad Shaabani, said, 'We are moving towards more production, receiving better feedstock.'

Shaabani said the company products are destined to markets in Belgium, East Asia and Turkey.

He said olefin is the basic material for production of fuel oil, ethane compounds, resulting in production of propylene and ethylene.

He said propylene cost price is times costly for the JPCA, which covers an area of 77 hectares.
The expert said the price for the JPCA feed moves in parallel with the oil price: The higher the oil price, the higher the feedstock price.

He said the company receives butane from phases of the gas field and use it as liquid feed.
To the end of his remarks, he said Technip of France is his company's licensor and talks are underway with Siemens of Germany for further cooperation in the future in the field of compressors.

Jam Petrochemical Co. (JPC) was established in 2000 and was the 10th olefin plant to be built in Iran, further developing the petrochemical industry of the country.

JPC is the largest ethylene manufacturer in Iran and it has different manufacturing units including olefin, heavy polyethylene, linear polyethylene, butadiene and butane-1.

The olefin unit of Jam Co. is the largest olefin unit in Iran and one of the largest in the world. The company is based in Tehran and its production facilities are located in Pars Special Economic/Energy Zone, in Assaluyeh.

JPC’s olefin unit has two competitive advantages compared to other units: 1. High production capacity (largest olefin unit in Iran) and 2. Flexible furnaces that can use both gas and liquid feeds (if available, the cheaper feedstock will be used in flexible furnaces)

The JCP products are ethylene, Used in production of propylene, PVC, and other polymer
Intermediates, and propylene, used in production of polypropylene, grades of High-Density and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE & HDPE), used in different industries such as film making, textile, injection molding, packaging, home appliances, agriculture, and blow molding industry, pyrolysis Gasoline used as fuel, Cracked Fuel Oil (CFO) used as fuel, butene-1 used in polyolefin production, 1,3-Butadiene used as a feedstock for ‘ABS’ production.
