Imports Supply Two-Thirds of Paper Market
EghtesadOnline: Two-thirds of the paper needed in the Iranian market come from foreign countries, therefore it is not logical to raise import tariffs, says Gholamreza Kateb, a member of Majlis Culture Commission.
Referring to the recent increase in import tariff rates on paper from 5% to 10%, Kateb said tariffs levied on imports should not hurt the domestic industries. “The planners of Iran’s tariff system need to consider supply and demand in each sector,” Eranico quoted the official as saying.
