Oman, Iran central banks to promote bilateral cooperation

EghtesadOnline: To promote bilateral cooperation and reinforce trade exchanges, central banks of Oman and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday.

Earlier, Oman’s secretary general of the foreign ministry Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi met with deputy foreign minister of Iran, Morteza Sarmadi.

Sayyid Al Busaidi also met with governor of the Iranian central bank Valiollah Seif, according to ISNA.

The meetings dealt with areas of the bilateral cooperation to serve efforts of promoting the trade exchange and encouraging investment.

Several meetings and consultations were held between members of the Omani delegation and their Iranian counterparts in the monetary and banking sectors.

The meetings aimed at enhancing the banking relations between the two countries.

In this framework, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the central banks of the two countries. It was signed by executive president of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO)Hamoud bin Sangour Al Zadjali and ValiollahSeif.
