838 Km of New Railroads by Yearend

EghtesadOnline: Iran will inaugurate 838 kilometers of railroads by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2018), a deputy minister of roads and urban development said.

“The 267-km Tehran-Hamedan rail project will become operational in the coming days,” Kheirollah Khademi was also quoted as saying by ILNA.

“Four other provincial capitals will also join Iran’s rail network in a prioritized order by the yearend.”

Khademi also said Qazvin-Rasht, the so-called Gharb (West) project, connecting the city of Arak in the central Markazi Province to Khosravi Border Crossing in the western Kermanshah Province bordering Iraq, as well as Mahabad-Urmia and Mianeh-Bostanabad railroads will be launched this year, Financial Tribune reported.
