EghtesadOnline: A new video game called ‘Battle in the Gulf of Aden 2’ was unveiled on Monday at the International Exhibition of Electronics, Computer, and E-Commerce (Elecomp 2017). Developed by Amytis Games, the 2017 version is latest developed by the local firm.

News ID: 777965

A previous version was launched in 2012 with fewer levels. The Battle in the Gulf of Aden 2 game was shown during a ceremony attended by Islamic Republic Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, IRIB News Agency reported.

Funded in part by the cultural department of the Army, it is a first-person shooter game, which is available on both Windows PCs and smartphones running on Android.

This gameplay is inspired by historical battles between Iranian Navy commandos and Somali pirates who tried to seize oil tankers and cargo ships straddling the pirate-infested Gulf of Aden in 2011-2012, Financial Tribune reported.

The second version of the game provides new battles for players with more scenarios than the 2012 edition.
