Mashhad Motor Show August 7-11

EghtesadOnline: The northeastern city of Mashhad in Khorasan Razavi Province is set to host the 17th International Automobile, Spare Parts and Related Industries Exhibition next week.

Auto manufacturers and related firms from Tehran, Yazd and Isfahan and other industrial cities will participate in the August 7-11 event, according to the official website of the expo.

Stakeholders across the industry including manufacturers of passenger cars, heavy-goods vehicles and auto parts makers have registered for the nationally important annual show.

The last round of the event in August 2016 brought together a large number of national and international firms such as Kerman Motor and Chery, among others.

Truck manufacturer Zamyad and manufacturer of heavy vehicles SAIPA Diesel were also came with their latest models to the pilgrimage city that is home to the mausoleum of Imam Reza (PBUH), the eight Imam of Shiite Muslims.

Among the local automakers, Karmania, a subsidiary of Kerman Motor, has said that it will launch the presale of its newly unveiled BYD F3 at the Mashhad show.

At first glance, this Chinese-built car powered by a 1.6-liter Mitsubishi-sourced engine, connected to a 5-speed manual Mitsubishi gearbox, looks like a mashup of a Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla with hints of other brands.

It scored well in China-NCAP crash tests by receiving 4 stars.

At last year’s event, China’s Chery, unveiled an updated version of MVM X33. The car is a local variant of China’s Chery Tiggo 3 that was released in 2015.
