Int’l Carpet Expo in September

According to the official website of the event at Eurasianavid.com, the exhibition has been organized with the aim of providing a platform for producers, traders, banks, credit institutions and everyone involved in the industry to showcase their latest products and services to help boost domestic sales and exports. The four-day event will conclude on Sept. 9. About $287 million worth of machine-made carpets were exported from Iran in the last fiscal year (March 2017-18). The main export destinations for these products were the neighboring countries of Afghanistan and Iraq, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s data. Close to $4.8 million worth of machine-made carpets were imported over the same period. Turkey with $2.5 million was the main source of carpet imports, according to Financial Tribune.
