Iran's Trade With South Korea Down 34%

EghtesadOnline: Iran traded 2.04 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $2.08 billion with South Korea during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22), registering a 54.97% and 34.29% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

Iran’s exports to South Korea stood at 1.59 million tons worth $833.30 million, down 59.87% and 51.20% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. South Korea was Iran’s sixth major export destination during the period. Iran mainly exported gas condensate, butane and iron and steel ingots to South Korea during the five-month period. South Korea exported 456,188 tons of goods worth $1.24 billion to Iran, down 21.60% and 14.55% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. South Korea was the third major exporter of goods to Iran over the five months. The imports mainly included auto parts, vehicles and fridge parts, according to Financial Tribune.
