“The new polyethylene grades will annually earn $100 million in export revenues,” Seyyed Hossein Mir-Afzali, managing director of the company, was quoted as saying by NIPNA, the National Petrochemical Company's official news agency.

Some of the produced items are: MD-35504, MD-3520, LL-235F6, LL-235F7, GR-LL-HP-18XF5, MD-38504, CC-52502, CC-52502SU, CC-52501, HD-5000S, PP EP3130UV.

The products were once a monopoly of American and Italian firms and are extensively used in manufacturing car bumpers, gasoline tanks, pipes, fibers and packaging material, according to Financial Tribune.

"The company has commenced mass production of the new items and plans are underway to export it to international markets," the manager said.

With annual production capacity of 1.32 million tons of ethylene and 306,000 tons of propylene, the company is first in Iran in terms of production and one of the leaders in manufacturing some petrochemicals.

Jam company’s output increased 40% in the current fiscal that started in March. Its olefin unit is one of the largest in the world.

China is one of the main export destinations for JPC products while Turkey, Pakistan, Europea and South American countries are other destinations.

Polyethylene is the world's most versatile and widely produced polymer.

JPC is also producing high density grade of polyethylene used for producing the so-called PE100 pipes that have higher long-term strength and are used in oil, gas water and wastewater networks.

High density polyethylene is used for producing plastic bottles, corrosion-resistant piping, geomembranes and plastic lumber.

The company expects to launch the first phase of its acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) plant by March with a total annual capacity of 200,000 tons.

ABS is a hard, heat-resistant engineering plastic widely used in housing appliances, pipe fittings and automotive interior parts.
