Main Destination for Cement Exports via Railroads
EghtesadOnline: About 227,000 tons of cement were exported to Uzbekistan through Sarakhs Border Terminal in Khorasan Razavi Province during the seven months to Oct. 22.
The volume accounted for 82% of all the Iranian cement exported through railroad over the period, which makes Uzbekistan the biggest rail export destination for the construction material.
According to Mohammad Hadi Ziyaeimehr, the director general of Khorasan Razavi Railroad Organization, a total of 247,000 tons of cement were exported to Central Asian countries via rail through Sarakhs Border Terminal over the seven months, which shows a 243% rise compared with the similar period of last year, IRNA reported.
The official added that Sarakhs accounts for 90% of Iran’s cement exports through railroads, Financial Tribune reported.
