Desire to Migrate Has Reached Below 18 Years Old
According to the social assistant to the President, the desire to migrate among those under 18 has decreased, and for the new generation, migration is seen as a means of escape.
EghtesadOnline: ILNA reports that Ali Rabiei, the social assistant to the President, stated at a seminar on the effects of migration on businesses at the Tehran Chamber of Commerce that migration is a phenomenon of today and is not exclusive to Iran; it is also prevalent in developed societies. However, in the past decade, this issue has turned into a political, social, and economic matter in our country.
He added that previously, migration was approached with a denialist perspective, and it is unfortunate that the most important political institutions in the country have not looked at migration with concern. Another approach views migration as the result of a conspiracy, while a third expresses passive concern.
Rabiei emphasized that the desire to migrate has reached below 18 years old, noting that the reasons for this desire differ between new generations and older ones. In the past, migration was motivated by the intention to attract investment, and Iranian migrants would return with this capital. Today, however, migration is regarded as a means of escape.
The social assistant to the President pointed out the exit of individuals, capital, and companies due to migration, stating that the departure of startup companies is not a positive development, especially considering that the new generation is inclined to work in such companies.
