Iran thanks Oman for active role in indirect nuclear talks

President Masoud Pezeshkian has said his country is grateful to Oman for the active and constructive role it plays in the process of indirect Iran-US talks on the nuclear issue and the lifting of the oppressive sanctions.

President Pezeshkian made the comments in a meeting with  "Haitham bin Tariq Al Said", Sultan of Oman in Muscat on Tuesday. 

Stating that Iran and Oman have shared potential that they can use for the welfare and progress of each other and other nations in the region, the President said that "We  appreciate the active and constructive role of the Sultanate of Oman in the indirect negotiations process, and we hope that this process will lead to good results."

The Sultan of Oman, for his part, said that "Iran-Oman port relations should be developed. Iran’s north-south rail capacity is also very important to us."

Haitham bin Tariq Al Said also sai that "As regard [the indirect Iran-US] talks, Muscat considers Iran’s success a success for the region."

He further said his country appreciates the Iranian Leader’s trust in Oman’s mediating role in the negotiations.

"Rest assured that his positions, which you convey to us, will be carefully and respectfully considered and followed up on by us," the Sultan also said./ Mehr
