Snapback Mechanism will further complicate diplomatic efforts: Leader’s advisor

An advisor to Iran’s Leader stated that the E3’s attempt to trigger the Snapback Mechanism will not deter Iran from protecting its independence and development but will instead worsen diplomatic relations.
Mohammad Mokhber, advisor and assistant to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said that the European signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) seeking to exploit the Snapback Mechanism will not affect Iran’s determination to safeguard its independence and progress but will further complicate the diplomatic landscape.
Mokhber made the remarks in a post on X on Friday.
On Thursday, the European Troika – France, Germany, and Britain, collectively known as the E3 – formally submitted a notification to the United Nations Security Council to invoke the Dispute Resolution Mechanism, also referred to as the Snapback Mechanism, in an effort to reinstate UN sanctions on Iran that were lifted under Resolution 2231.
The move has drawn criticism from Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.irna
