Speaking at a ceremony marking Nurse’s Day on Wednesday, Pezeshkian said that maintaining the health of the people remains his administration’s top priority.

He stated that nurses are on the front line in the fight against diseases and in preserving the health of society, adding that, with the help of nurses and a spirit of solidarity, the nation can overcome hardships and build a proud and dignified Iran.

The president also expressed appreciation for the sacrifice and efforts of the medical community, particularly nurses, during the 12-day war imposed in June. He noted that the vigilance of the people and especially medical personnel during that period was commendable.

The president referred to the 12-day imposed war as one of the challenges faced by the country in recent months. He stated that the Zionist enemy had imagined that attacking Iran with bombs and missiles would drive people into the streets and lead to the country’s disintegration, but the Iranian nation responded in a way that defied those expectations.

He also warned that the enemy is seeking to undermine Iran’s unity and cohesion.

The country is capable of solving its problems if all segments of society work hand in hand, set aside differences, and act with knowledge and reason, Pezeshkian concluded.

On June 13, the Zionist regime launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas for 12 consecutive days. The United States later escalated the conflict by striking three of Iran’s nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.

Iran’s Armed Forces delivered an immediate and forceful response. The IRGC Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, inflicting significant damage and heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.

In retaliation for the US attacks, Iranian forces also targeted al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar —the largest American military installation in West Asia— with a barrage of missiles.

The confrontation came to an end on June 24, when a ceasefire was enforced./tasnim
