Iranian, Russian FMs Confer on Regional, Global Issues

Iranian and Russian top diplomats spoke by phone to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing consultation mechanisms for resolving regional and global challenges.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke on Thursday and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation and addressing regional and global issues.

Araqchi outlined Iran’s active regional diplomacy, pointing to Tehran’s sustained consultations with neighboring countries to strengthen peace and stability, and stressing the need to continue the process with the involvement of all influential parties.

Lavrov also welcomed the development of a regional consultation and cooperation framework, saying it offers a constructive mechanism for resolving differences among regional states.
