Iran’s foreign trade exceeds $76.5 billion from March to November
Iran’s foreign trade in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2025, to November 21, 2025) has reached 131.054 million tons, valued at $76.537 billion, according to the latest data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
This figure represents a 9.38% decrease in value compared to the same period last year, while the volume of trade increased by 1.53%.
During this timeframe, Iran exported 105.231 million tons of goods worth $36.997 billion. This reflects a 1.17% increase in weight but a 3.48% decline in value compared to the previous year.
In contrast, imports totaled 25.823 million tons, valued at $39.540 billion, showing a 3% increase in weight but a significant 14.29% decrease in value.
The rise in export weight is attributed to energy imbalances in the industrial and mining sectors, prompting producers to sell raw materials such as iron ore concentrate and pellets due to unused production capacity.
Recent statistics from the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) indicate an 82% increase in iron ore concentrate exports compared to the previous seven months. /irna
