Iran Still in State of War: General
A senior military adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said Iran remains in a state of war despite the ceasefire, stressing that all state institutions must maintain full preparedness in the face of continuing threats.
Addressing an event held in commemoration of martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said that Iran remains in a state of war and that all state institutions must preserve the necessary level of readiness.
He described the US and Israeli military attacks on Iran and the assassination of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as the enemy's greatest strategic mistake, saying the aggression failed to achieve its objectives and instead strengthened national unity and solidarity among the Iranian people.
The general said national unity, support for the leadership, and strengthening the country's indigenous capabilities are the key requirements for overcoming the current wartime conditions.
The senior military adviser also pointed to the massive turnout at the funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, Najaf and Karbala, describing them as among the largest public gatherings in contemporary history.
Rahim Safavi said the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran was intended to weaken the Islamic Republic, undermine domestic cohesion, and alter the regional balance of power, but failed to accomplish those objectives.
Although Iran suffered losses and a number of military commanders, scientists and civilians were martyred, he said, the enemy failed to weaken the resolve of the Iranian people, the country's defensive capabilities, or the structure of the Islamic Republic.
Referring to the broader impact of the conflict, he said the blood of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the other martyrs would strengthen the spirit of resistance among free nations beyond Iran's borders.
The general stressed that threats from the enemy persist, adding that the country remains in wartime conditions and all institutions must correctly assess the situation and maintain the necessary level of preparedness.
Rahim Safavi also underscored the importance of supporting the leadership, preserving national unity, and preventing social divisions, warning that the enemy seeks to create rifts between the people and the country's officials./tasnim
