Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi spoke by telephone with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which the two sides exchanged views on key regional issues.

The ministers expressed concern over the situation in Palestine and Lebanon amid violations of ceasefire agreements by the Israeli regime, as well as the continuation of its attacks on Gaza and Lebanon and the targeting of civilians.

They stressed the necessity for the international community to exert pressure on Israel to fully adhere to its commitments and to halt its policies of genocide, occupation, and expansionism.

Araghchi and Al Thani also reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, underlining the importance of safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and unity.

In recent days, forces of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) have managed to take control of large parts of Yemen’s southern provinces.

The militant group has claimed that the objective of its incursions is the “expulsion of extremists and prevention of smuggling operations.”

According to reports, the STC forces have recently advanced in Hadramawt Province, capturing the city of Seiyun and gaining control of several oil fields in desert areas bordering Saudi Arabia./irna
