Deputy Chief of Iran’s Army for Coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic is facing hybrid and cognitive warfare, referring to the US’ recent saber rattling and the deployment of aircraft carriers.

He said Washington has pursued gunboat diplomacy since 1980, explaining that the deployment of large naval vessels and extensive military equipment is aimed at intimidating opponents and projecting an ability to inflict damage.

Sayyari warned that showcasing successive fleet deployments should not mislead decision-makers, emphasizing that if any incident were to occur, the opposing side would also suffer damage, and that such damage would be heavy.

Iran has the capability to inflict damage on its enemies, he noted, warning that adversaries are fully aware that any adventurism would entail heavy costs.

The commander also said the Iranian Army is fully prepared to defend the country’s territorial integrity, independence, and political system, and remains committed to fulfilling its missions.

The Army is always ready to confront threats from land, sea, or air, he stated, underlining that Iran stands firm and will continue to stand firm./tasnim
