Jordan will not be a battlefield for any party in any regional conflict and will not serve as a launchpad for potential military action against Iran, the country’s foreign minister told his Iranian counterpart in a phone call on Monday, according to a statement by Jordan’s foreign ministry.

According to the statement, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed regional issues and developments related to Iran’s nuclear file with Iran’s foreign minister, stressing the need for diplomacy to address the nuclear issue and supporting efforts to de-escalate and calm tensions in the region.

Safadi reaffirmed that Jordan would not allow any party to violate its airspace and would not be drawn into regional confrontations, the statement added./irna
